d&b audiotechnik Greater China up and running

In late 2018, d&b audiotechnik announced the formation of d&b audiotechnik Greater China Ltd, the result of a collaboration between d&b audiotechnik and its former Chinese partner, d&b China. The company is now reporting that the subsidiary is fully operational with 44 staff members working in Hong Kong, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.

‘As the set up has been completed officially, we are all pleased to be able to support the d&b Greater China partners and customers even better in their quest for the best professional audio solutions,’ commented d&b audiotechnik Greater China managing director Daniel Chan.

Mr Chan and advisory board member Freddie To – previously the heads of the d&b distributor in China – are co-owners of the new subsidiary. It was previously announced that Mr To was joined on the advisory board by d&b audiotechnik Group CEO Amnon Harman (due to the German manufacturer holding the majority interest in the new cooperation) and that an external market expert was to be named in due course. That market expert has now been revealed as Mike Chao, who is regarded as an expert in the Chinese pro audio sector as a founding partner of GeoFusion, an advisory company that specialises in helping technology companies advance in China. Mr Chao’s two decades of experience includes management roles at Dolby Laboratories, The Boston Consulting Group and Microsoft Corporation.

‘d&b is a recognised leader in the Chinese professional audio market, and d&b Greater China is well-positioned for future growth,’ said Mr Chao. ‘I look forward to seeing more customers across China have the opportunity to experience and enjoy d&b technology and solutions.’
