Robe goes big at Transmission Australia

Australia:

Transmission Australia 2019 at the Sydney Showground was the largest iteration of the dance festival to date. Lighting designer Bas Kemper and Vision Impossible employed more than 200 Robe moving lights. MPH Australia supplied these fixtures, as well as the rest of the lighting needed for the event.

The rig comprised 78 Robe Pointes, 90 MegaPointes, 10 Spiiders, 20 LEDBeam 150s and 19 BMFL Blades, which replicated the 'Awakening' show that has been seen at Transmission events across the globe.

A large hexagonal LED screen occupied centre stage, flanked by six hexagonal pods rigged along the width of the stage. Lights were positioned in between and around all of these and also over the auditorium roof. Six LED columns were flown above the audience. The Pointes were used on the main hexagon, in the pods and also on the vertical trussing above the audience.

The MegaPointes were the main fixtures onstage, while the Spiiders provided DJ back-lighting, the LEDBeam 100s were used to augment the aerial looks created by the Pointes and MegaPointes, and the BMFL Blades highlighted the décor and scenic elements as well as delivering key lighting for the DJ positions and backlighting for the dancers.
