A South Korean first at Indeogwon Catholic Church
In order to provide clear sound for its sermons and performances, the Indeogwon Catholic Church in South Korea decided to upgrade its audio system with products from the Harman portfolio. These were installed with the aid of distributor TechData and integrator Badaant.
‘The priest at the Indeogwon Catholic Church requested a sound system that was distinctive yet powerful,’ said Brad Park, sales representative at TechData. ‘Since the main hall is fairly large, the setup had to provide even sound distribution to the back of the room, while ensuring that the priest’s voice is brought forth with exemplary levels of clarity. Also, it was a matter of great pride for us that two of the units, the JBL Intellivox HP-DS370 and AXY-710121 AXYS B-121 subwoofer, were the first of their kind to be installed in South Korea.’
Alongside the Intellivox HP-DS370 loudspeaker arrays and AXYS B-121 G2 subwoofers, the church was equipped with AC28/95 loudspeakers for additional coverage. A pair of CBT 70J-1 line array columns ensure that the audio is clear at the back of the church thanks to their Constant Beamwidth technology and asymmetrical vertical coverage. Control 16C/T ceiling speakers and Control 25-1 indoor/outdoor loudspeakers were set up to provide audio throughout the rest of the church, while a pair of LSR305 studio monitors were placed at FOH. Crown CDi 1000, CDi 2000 and XLI2500 amplifiers power the system. The church was also equipped with AKG CGN521 STS, C214 condenser and D5 S handheld vocal microphones. A Soundcraft SI-Impact digital mixing console and EPM6 six-channel mixer were equipped to control the audio signals from several different sources. For fine-tuning the response of the system, a dbx DriveRack VENU360 loudspeaker management processor was installed.
