Singapore:

Shaw Theatres Lido and Shaw Theatres JEM, part of the Singaporean cinema chain Shaw Theatres, have upgraded their audio systems with LEA Professional amplifiers installed by Goldenduck. Established in 1928, Shaw Theatres is one of Singapore’s oldest cinema brands, operating eight locations that offer a diverse range of viewing formats.

When Shaw Theatres Lido and Shaw Theatres JEM decided it was time to upgrade their audio systems, they contacted Lee Chew Kai, director/business leader at Goldenduck Asia, to select and install new amplifiers to support the individual theatres at both locations.

With the objective of creating an immersive audio environment for the cinemas, Kai recommended the LEA Connect Series for the project. “LEA’s advanced performance and technology offer the best experience to cinema goers,” he said. “Space constraints are also a common challenge in boothless cinema setups, so LEA’s compact footprints are another benefit that helps us significantly reduce rack space without compromising performance.”

Goldenduck installed nine Connect Series 354, 49 Connect Series 704 and 19 Connect Series 1504 amplifiers to power the 19 theatres across both locations. The team leveraged LEA’s SharkWare software to configure a base profile and push it to all pre-staged LEA amplifiers. The software allows users to monitor the status of every amplifier connected to the network, as well as the status and performance of individual channels. In addition, with SharkWare users can view and adjust channel settings for all LEA Professional Connect Series amplifiers.

Featuring LEA Cloud connectivity, the Connect Series enables the AV team at Goldenduck to remotely control and monitor the amplifiers from anywhere at any time. Meanwhile, WebUI functions as an onsite control interface, offering integrators and end users a platform to view and adjust channel settings, ranging from load monitoring to EQ adjustments, through any standard web browser. Through this, Goldenduck was able to streamline on-the-spot testing and modifications, enabling efficient system setup and fine-tuning during systems installation.

“Our audiences expect the best and LEA Connect Series delivers exactly that – advanced performance and rock-solid reliability that keep every theatre sounding flawless,” said Terence Heng, vice president, innovation at Shaw Theatres. “It was the clear choice for elevating audio across our cinemas.”
