CTME hosts third LED masterclass for SPAA students

UAE:

Creative Technology Middle East (CTME) recently hosted students from the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) for a two-day LED and video systems masterclass, continuing a training collaboration that has now run for three consecutive years.

The visit, held on 27–28 April 2026 at the company’s Dubai facility known as The Cube, brought six third-year production students into a hands-on learning environment focused on professional live event workflows and LED integration. The programme is part of an ongoing partnership between SPAA and CTME aimed at exposing students to industry-standard production practices.

The two-day session was structured to bridge academic training with real-world technical requirements. Day one focused on health and safety procedures, LED handling and physical system assembly using professional display technologies including INFiLED and ROE Visual panels, with students working in teams across rigging and configuration tasks.

Day two introduced more advanced workflow elements, including stage design principles, LED mapping using Brompton Technology and BrightLogic processing systems, and media playback using d3 servers. The programme concluded with an integrated workflow exercise combining all elements.

CTME video engineering staff led the sessions, with senior engineers overseeing practical instruction and system demonstrations. “We truly appreciated the opportunity to share our workflow and demonstrate the assembly of LED screens. We hope the session was insightful and inspiring,” said Krystian Piotrowski, senior video engineer at CTME.

Participants from SPAA described the experience as valuable for their professional development. “I would like to thank you for your amazing support during the last two days. I am looking forward to connecting with you more in the future,” said Faiz Hassan, a third-year production student.

CTME staff said the initiative reflects the company’s wider focus on skills development within the live events sector in the UAE. “The students were very engaged and appreciative of the time spent with them,” commented Carlos Aguilar, head of video at CTME. “Seeing young people interested in what we do was rewarding for the entire team.”

The company is expected to continue the programme in 2027, with discussions already underway for future student cohorts from SPAA.
