Logic System targets APAC with brand relaunch
A British loudspeaker brand has relaunched under its original name of Logic System. The revived company will exhibit at on booth B28, Hall 3.2 at Prolight + Sound Guangzhou from 28-31 May with a mission to connect with potential new business partners in the APAC region.
The company began life in 1983 when founder Chris Scott began designing and manufacturing loudspeakers in the UK. Over the following decades, Logic System established itself as a respected name in professional audio, particularly in the touring, installation and OEM markets. In 2010, Logic System was sold, continuing life as Logic Systems until that company ceased trading altogether in the early 2020s.
Retaining the intellectual property and original branding for Logic System, Scott’s decision to relaunch the brand was spurred by a post-pandemic reconnection with Jason Baird, formerly head of R&D at Martin Audio, at London’s PLASA show in 2022. Together, they identified an opportunity to bring the brand back to market with a more targeted strategy. The decision was solidified when Baird was approached by industry contacts in Hong Kong who were seeking British-made loudspeakers tailored to China’s evolving entertainment sectors. Rather than simply reviving legacy products, the new Logic System technology has been built around a defined market need, specifically the growing demand for higher-quality audio in premium KTV venues, nightclubs and live house performance spaces.
“There are environments that sit between traditional karaoke rooms and full-scale nightclubs,” explained Baird, now managing director of Logic System. “They require compact, powerful systems that deliver club-level performance in more intimate settings. We saw this as an opportunity to start Logic System up again and initially focus it on the APAC market.”
The result is the A Series range of point source loudspeakers and subwoofers, the newly released Sectre range of constant curvature array loudspeakers and a series of 4-channel DSP amplifiers. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the loudspeaker systems feature high-performance transducers partnered with Italian amplification, appealing to China’s appetite for Western-engineered, premium brands. The company has also focused on distinctive industrial design to create a recognisable visual identity, protected by copyright and design patents.
Logic System Hong Kong has been incorporated to represent the Asian market, while a base in Guanghzou functions as a combined office, demo facility and warehouse. The site includes dedicated demonstration spaces for KTV and larger sound system applications, allowing potential customers to experience the products in real-world environments. The facility also acts as the company’s primary distribution hub, with products shipped directly from the UK and handled locally. A small team is in place to handle sales, technical support and administration, with regional distribution partnerships currently under development and further discussions are welcomed.
“We invite audio professionals in the APAC region to experience the A Series and the launch of the Sectre constant curvature system in the extensive demo room on our booth at Prolight + Sound Guangzhou,” said Baird.
