Welcome to Powersoft Online Training

Following on from the successful training forum presentations by Dave Rat and Steven Kemland, Powersoft offers a new series of webinars to audio professionals who want to leverage amplifier technologies and optimise their advanced tools for problem solving in field applications.

The next sessions will highlight all aspects of designing an audio system for TV programmes such as X Factor Italy, where live music and broadcast audio are the key fundamentals, and look at how Powersoft can invigorate the PA on the live touring circuit.

Each webinar includes a fully produced video with the host explaining their use of the technology followed by a live Q+A session where the hosts will answer attendees’ questions.
Powersoft Training videos can be accessed from anywhere and all sessions are available free-of-charge.

Project Manager Capital Sound

Robin Conway, project manager at multi-award winning rental company Capital Sound explains how the newly-configured Dante returns rack has increased the popularity of Powersoft’s new Dante-supporting platform with sound crews. Running four touring racks on tour with Australian Pink Floyd, each consisting of three X8 units, Robin Conway points out how the X Series platform has been able to draw very little power, easily fitting within a 63A, 3-phase touring power supply system, while ensuring outstanding sonic performance.
How to design a live music and speech system for broadcast: X Factor Italy

Date: Thursday 5th October 2017
Time: 3.00 pm to 4.30 GMT
Language: Eng
Lecturer: Massimo Faggioni
FOH X Factor Italy

Massimo Faggioni, FOH engineer for the 10th edition of X Factor Italy, explains how the system has been designed and the complexities faced by himself and sound designer Roberto Scioni in setting up in the Linear 4 Ciak Theatre with lasers, videos and Spidercam intervening. In addition they had to deal with issues posed by the weight loading of the loudspeakers and the requirement to maintain an SPL of 94dB(A). In this situation, when mixing a live show for broadcast, the 8-channel Powersoft X8 brought about a great reduction in cableing. It also provided DSP and enabled full control via Armonîa — which was set up in advance — while the virtual amps prepared on Armonîa were then paired with the physical ones.
Please note: This Webinar will be conducted in Italian with English subtitles.
