PreSonus appoints A&C Pro Audio in China
Expanding its presence in the region, PreSonus has appointed A&C Pro Audio in Shenzhen as its exclusive distributor in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. Through the agreement, PreSonus will be the distributor’s anchor brand, and therefore will be the only brand that A&C is marketing, promoting and selling.
Tao Cheng, general manager of A&C, said that the manufacturer has a unique product ecosystem in the industry. “Based on its powerful Studio One software, the brand has a diverse product line from microphones, sound cards, headphones, monitor speakers and MIDI controllers to mixing consoles and big reinforcement speakers, which can cover the entire sound chain from home studios and recording studios, to live performances, providing us with a broad market,” he explained.
Kamal Mahtani, sales director of PreSonus Asia Pacific, cited China as one of the core countries in the company’s distribution strategy for the APAC region. “We want to choose a distribution partner that can align with our growth strategy,” he noted. “When I first met Mr Tao and his team, I was convinced that they are the best choice. They have got the right experience and channel network as well as the visibility on how to market online. And what was most important to me is that PreSonus is their anchor brand, which means PreSonus is the only brand that they are marketing, promoting and selling.”
PreSonus was acquired by guitar giant Fender in 2021 and since then has set a detailed product roadmap and plans to release a number of new products in the near future. “Fender provides PreSonus with the resources needed for growth and the cooperation between the two parties brings more growth opportunities. Some of our products are designed for each other,” Mahtani continued. “We want to preach our PreSonus ecosystem on our Studio One software. The software has achieved great success since its launch and is definitely the top three DAW software in the world. We plan to release nearly 10 new products in 2025–2026. The future is bright.”
