Sonos Libra deploys Adamson’s CS-Series for Thai rapper
Thai rapper and singer Youngohm recently debuted his new album Fai Glang Khuen with a listening party that marked Thailand’s first full Adamson CS-Series line array deployment. Provided by local distributor Sonos Libra, the sonic setup was complemented by DirectOut’s Maven.A platform, an Allen & Heath mix rack and console, plus microphones from Earthworks Audio.
Youngohm’s listening party was split across two zones – indoor and outdoor – with separate solutions deployed for each. Serving as the main listening area for the album showcase and opening jazz set, the outdoor zone benefitted from a CS7 and CS118 line array system, complemented by ground-stacked CS119 subwoofers for extended low-frequency energy as well as MG10 monitors to support the live jazz performance.
The indoor zone played host to a DJ after party and featured a sound system designed to offer an energetic club-like atmosphere with precise low-frequency response tailored for DJ performances. Sonos Libra outfitted the space with CS10p point source loudspeakers, complemented in the lower frequencies by CS118 and CS119 subwoofers.
All audio processing and control were managed via the Allen & Heath dLive DM48 mix rack and C1500 Surface, while an iPad provided flexible control throughout the event. According to Sonos Libra, a highlight was the full playback of Fai Glang Khuen, which relied on DirectOut’s Maven.A platform to deliver studio-grade audio fidelity and enhanced redundancy for uninterrupted performance. Furthermore, the drums in the live jazz band leveraged an Earthworks Audio DK7 Gen 2 microphone kit to provide natural transients and clarity for each song.
Sonos Libra’s sound engineer Phoom commented on the project: “This was my first time flying the CS Series Line Array. I had never learned the full rigging process before, yet I was able to set it up without difficulty. On top of that, Adamson’s ArrayIntelligence software is truly impressive; it gives us a tremendous amount of flexibility to optimise the system.”
