inMusic acquires Native Instruments and iZotope brands
inMusic has announced its acquisition of Native Instruments, bringing the music technology developer and its associated brands under the same ownership as Akai Professional, Denon DJ, Numark, M-Audio and Moog Music.
The deal also includes audio software companies iZotope, Plugin Alliance and Brainworx, significantly expanding inMusic’s presence across music production, audio processing, mixing and mastering technologies.
Native Instruments is known for platforms including Kontakt and Traktor, alongside a wider portfolio of software instruments, DJ systems and production tools used throughout studio, live and broadcast environments. According to the companies, the acquisition builds on an existing relationship between the businesses, including previous integrations involving Akai Professional and M-Audio products.
“Native Instruments represents everything we look for in a partner: exceptional products, a deeply engaged community and a clear point of view on what musicians want,” said inMusic CEO Jack O’Donnell. “Bringing these platforms together allows us to move faster, deepen integration and build better tools for creators.”
The acquisition follows a difficult period for Native Instruments, which recently entered restructuring proceedings while seeking new investment and ownership.
Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments, described the agreement as “the beginning of a new chapter” for the company and confirmed that Native Instruments, iZotope, Plugin Alliance and Brainworx would continue operating under the new ownership structure. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
