DirectOut shrinks Smart Audio Platform into portable ACE

DirectOut has introduced ACE, a compact Smart Audio Platform designed for playback, drive rack and custom processing applications within a portable form factor. Built around the same FPGA core used in the company’s PRODIGY Series, ACE combines audio networking, routing and processing within a backpack-sized chassis intended for touring and live production workflows.

The platform operates across three selectable ACE Modes. Playback Mode supports redundant playback systems and vocal processing workflows with EARS redundancy switching, while PA Mode provides drive rack functionality including EQ, dynamics, delays and integrated Smaart support. PRODIGY Mode unlocks the full globcon environment for custom signal routing, mixing, summing and snapshot control. Users can switch between modes as requirements change, with additional functionality enabled through perpetual licensing.

Connectivity includes MADI, AES3, analogue I/O and Audio-over-IP formats including Dante and Milan variants. The platform also integrates with Ask.DirectOut, the company’s AI-based support and configuration service.
