L-ISA powers immersive launch for iFLYSOUND
L-Acoustics L-ISA immersive audio technology was deployed for the launch of iFLYSOUND, a new intelligent in-car audio initiative developed by Chinese AI specialist iFLYTEK. Held at the Hefei Grand Theatre in November 2025, the event combined live performance, immersive sound design and technology demonstrations to showcase the company’s vision for AI-driven automotive audio experiences.
Developed in partnership with the Nanjing University of the Arts through a joint Intelligent Audio Laboratory, iFLYSOUND is designed around what iFLYTEK describes as an “intelligent acoustic hub”, using AI-driven processing to adapt in-car audio experiences according to passenger position, driver behaviour and journey conditions.
The launch event was produced in collaboration with the Nanjing University of the Arts and featured a range of live performances staged through an L-ISA immersive sound environment.
“For the launch, we were clear that the venue sound had to do more than simply fill the room,” commented Li Feng, branding manager at Racpro. “We recognised that the system needed to embody the very values iFLYSOUND was promising its future customers. L-ISA was an obvious choice.”
Configured to envelop the audience in a 360° sonic panorama, the L-ISA system configuration at Hefei Grand Theatre comprised five arrays of A10 Focus and A10 Wide loudspeakers forming the main scene system, alongside Syva and X12 loudspeakers providing surround coverage throughout the auditorium. Six X8 loudspeakers added overhead spatial effects, while 5XT front-fill systems were positioned along the stage lip. Monitoring duties were handled by additional X8 systems, with audio mixed via dual DiGiCo Quantum 225 consoles running in mirrored redundancy.
The immersive sound environment was used to demonstrate several iFLYSOUND technologies, including Hyper-Immersive Surround Sound, Music Healing Room and Traveling DJ, an AI-driven system designed to adapt music playback dynamically during journeys.
“Hearing these technologies discussed and demonstrated through an L-ISA immersive sound field gave the audience a direct and compelling point of reference for what iFLYSOUND is ultimately striving to achieve,” added Feng. “The deployment of L-ISA served the practical needs of our event and reinforced our central message: that truly exceptional sound is defined by its ability to make the experience user-centric. Collaborating with partners like L-Acoustics who share our commitment to quality and innovation made it clear that there is still an exciting journey ahead.”
