VIOSO has launched Experience Designer, a cloud platform enabling AV professionals to design, simulate and validate complex projection systems before entering the venue. The platform introduces the concept of a virtual site survey for projection installations, enabling designers to evaluate projector placement, brightness, lens behaviour and potential occlusions before arriving onsite. While seamlessly integrating with VIOSO’s calibration and playback solutions, the platform is deliberately open and vendor-neutral and can be flexibly integrated into existing workflows of AV planners, systems integrators, creative agencies and simulation environments.

Experience Designer addresses the fragmented nature of multiple disconnected tools by enabling full-system simulation in advance – allowing designers to validate feasibility, optimise system design and reduce uncertainty before equipment reaches the venue. Using real-time GPU rendering and physics-based photometric analysis, users can instantly evaluate projection coverage and edge blending, brightness distribution and screen interaction, pixel density and visual fidelity, and line-of-sight constraints.

Designers can import venue geometry, position projectors from manufacturer libraries and simulate real-world optical behaviour, including lens characteristics, frustum geometry and brightness falloff. Advanced capabilities include camera simulation, including fisheye systems for calibration planning, automatic multi-projector spacing with dynamic repositioning and occlusion detection using GPU-accelerated depth analysis.

Experience Designer improves communication between technical teams, clients and stakeholders by replacing static drawings with interactive visualisation. Projects can be shared via simple links, allowing users to explore system layouts, coverage and visual outcomes directly in 3D.
