Qvest modernises Bahrain TV media archive system

Bahrain:

Introducing a new media workflow platform designed to modernise content management, storage and archiving operations, Qvest has completed a major upgrade of Bahrain TV’s media archive infrastructure on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ministry of Information,

Delivered during ongoing live broadcast operations, the project upgraded Bahrain TV’s media asset management environment without interrupting day-to-day transmission activities. According to Qvest, the implementation focused on improving workflow efficiency, scalability and collaboration while supporting Arabic-language metadata and production requirements.

The installation includes an Avid MediaCentral-based media asset management system, upgraded Spectra Stack Library storage infrastructure and Telestream Kumulate archive management integration. The solution also incorporates high-capacity Avid NEXIS storage engines providing 240TB per-engine alongside integration with Adobe Premiere Pro via MediaCentral Panel workflows.

As lead technology partner, Qvest handled the systems integration, migration and deployment process, including metadata migration and integration with existing ingest, tape and newsroom systems. “The new media archive system has significantly improved our teams’ productivity and offers a state-of-the-art environment that promotes creativity and collaboration,” commented Eng Abdulla Ahmed Al Balooshi, assistant undersecretary of technical affairs directorate at Bahrain’s Ministry of Information.

The upgraded platform enables simultaneous multi-user access, faster content retrieval and improved handling of large media files through enhanced search, transcoding and storage capabilities.

“Our goal was to create an exceptional working environment that reflects the core values and production standards of Bahrain TV while fostering a positive atmosphere among the staff,” said Philipp Glänzel, managing director of Qvest MENA.
