DAS Audio powers South Korean university installations
DAS Audio systems have been deployed at two South Korean university venues through projects delivered by local distributor Sovico System, supporting multi-purpose teaching, performance and event applications. According to DAS, both installations were designed to prioritise speech intelligibility, operational flexibility and consistent coverage across varied event formats within educational environments.
At Soongsil University in Seoul, Hyungnam Hall was upgraded with a Vantec series system comprising six Vantec-20A line array loudspeakers and two Vantec-118A subwoofers, alongside four Action-508A systems used for delay coverage and two Action-M512A stage monitors. According to the distributor, the installation followed a previous DAS Audio deployment elsewhere on the university campus, where the performance of the Vantec system had already been evaluated positively by the venue team.
“We first installed the Vantec-20A array system in a Soongsil University auditorium two years ago,” stated a spokesperson from Sovico System. “The sound director was highly satisfied with the performance, which led to this new project at Hyungnam Hall.”
A second project was completed at Inha University Gymnasium, where four Action-512A powered loudspeakers were installed to provide distributed coverage throughout the venue for sports activities, ceremonies and university events.
