Creative Technology relies on DirectOut for G42 Supercharged 2025
Creative Technology Middle East (CTME) deployed DirectOut PRODIGY.MP audio processors at G42 Supercharged 2025, using the platform to manage audio networking, routing and redundancy for one of the region’s largest AI-focused events.
Held at the ADNEC ICC Halls in Abu Dhabi, the event welcomed more than 2,400 guests and featured over 150m of LED displays alongside what CTME described as the largest d&b Soundscape deployment yet seen in the Middle East.
As the sole technical supplier, CTME built and tested a scaled version of the installation in its warehouse ahead of the event, conducting four days of rehearsals with stakeholders before transferring the system to site. According to the company, the preparation process helped reduce installation time to 48 hours.
System engineer Tim Cook and spatial and playback engineer George Abi Aad utilised two PRODIGY.MP units within the audio infrastructure, implementing multiple layers of redundancy across playback, console and d&b Soundscape feeds.
“Input Managers handled both DS100 processor feeds, so that if one channel dropped, it would automatically and seamlessly fail over to the backup,” explained Cook. “To go one step further, we implemented another fail-over layer using the Summing Busses within the PRODIGY.MP to feed a standard stereo system as a final backup.”
CTME first invested in DirectOut’s PRODIGY.MP platform in 2022 and has since expanded the system with Dante, Ravenna, MILAN and MADI interface cards. According to Cook, the modular architecture allows the units to be adapted for different applications across the company’s rental inventory.
“The flexibility is on another level,” he said. “No other device gives us this kind of adaptability. The interchangeable I/O cards let us build for any workflow, while the routing matrix and onboard DSP cut down on the need for multiple outboard units.”
The company also makes extensive use of DirectOut’s globcon software for remote monitoring and control, while integrating the platform with a range of third-party systems.
The PRODIGY.MP has become an essential part of the toolkit at CT. As Cook concludes, it is not just the hardware, the relationship with DirectOut and local distributor 7Hertz is valued, too, as both companies are quick to offer support and expertise when needed.
“7Hertz have supported us in integrating our DirectOut solutions into our workflow and ensuring that we maximize the capabilities of the PRODIGY.MP,” he finishes. “Because it’s such a powerful and versatile unit, we tend to use the PRODIGY.MP in almost every situation, from system tuning and playback redundancy to matrix routing,” he says. “As a rental company, we work across a huge variety of productions with different requirements and the PRODIGY.MP provides a consistent, reliable backbone our engineers can confidently depend on for every show.
