Fairlight Live is a software-based live audio mixer from Blackmagic Design with spatial audio mixing and SMPTE-2110 broadcast workflows. It can reportedly handle thousands of audio channels, working with standard computer audio or USB audio from ATEM live production switchers. Fully customisable, it has built-in effects and professional features such as a cue player, talkback busses and snapshots.

Fairlight Live makes it easy to design a custom mixer with flexible audio workflows that are ideal for any project from stereo to 5.1 surround or immersive formats. Customers can add, modify or move inputs and busses at any time, and easily change a four-host panel show into a remote guest setup or route a stereo input to an ambisonics bus in seconds. Audio channels can be managed in the tracks index to show, hide or rearrange inputs and busses.

All productions are saved as a complete show including the mixer layout, routing, processing, cue player and snapshots. The file menu lets users quickly open existing shows or create a new one. To accelerate setup, factory templates for common workflows are included plus there are layouts to match supported ATEM live production switchers. Unique productions can be custom built in the new show dialogue. Shows also include virtual soundcheck setups and media, plus key system settings such as solo mode.

The UpDownCross 100G is an 8-channel standards converter with native SMPTE-2110 connections via 100G Ethernet. It converts up to eight separate channels of SD, HD and Ultra HD video to any other standard simultaneously. The 1U design features front-to-back cooling that’s very quiet. The converter also includes redundant 100G Ethernet for full SMPTE 2022-7 compliance, dual redundant AC power supplies and a separate NMOS control port for connecting to control networks.

DaVinci Resolve 21 has introduced a new Photo page, which enables colourists and photographers to use advanced colour tools for still photos. Other updates include new AI tools such as IntelliSearch for fast content searching, CineFocus for focal point adjustment and tools for facial refinement. The Krokodove toolset adds over 70 new graphics to Fusion, Fairlight folders simplify audio track management, plus there are improvements to keyframing, MultiMaster trim passes and layer list node graphs.

Finally, Blackmagic Camera for iOS 3.3 adds support for camera control and monitoring using an Apple Watch, so customers can start and stop recording, and monitor the shot from their wrist. The update provides support for ATEM camera control so the iPhone can be used as a live studio camera. Customers can also use the studio camera’s Blackmagic Focus and Zoom Demands when connected via the Blackmagic Camera ProDock.
