VuWall powers Burj Khalifa security control room
VuWall has delivered an integrated video wall management platform for the security control room at Dubai's Burj Khalifa, working alongside systems integrator MVP Tech, part of Convergint. The deployment supports security and operational monitoring at the 828m tower, which welcomes approximately 17 million visitors annually and combines residential, hospitality, commercial and visitor attractions within a single development.
Operated by Emaar Properties, the Burj Khalifa requires continuous oversight of a wide range of systems and infrastructure. With an average of around 47,000 visitors passing through the building each day, the operator sought a control room solution capable of consolidating video feeds, operational intelligence and infrastructure monitoring into a centralised environment.
To address these requirements, VuWall supplied its TRx Video Wall Management Software as the core platform for visualisation and control within the security operations centre. The software enables operators to manage, distribute and display information across the control room's video wall infrastructure through a single interface.
The deployment also incorporates VuWall Application Server technology, providing access to websites, dashboards, remote desktop sessions and files from within the platform. Additional components include PAK 40 video wall and KVM nodes, alongside VuStream 150 AV-over-IP encoders, enabling IP-based distribution of video and data throughout the system.
A key element of the project was integration with Emaar's existing security infrastructure. As the organisation uses Milestone XProtect as its video management system, the installation incorporates the VuWall Milestone Plugin for TRx, allowing operators to access and control video wall content through a unified user interface.
According to the companies involved, the resulting platform provides security personnel with access to live and recorded video feeds, operational dashboards and other critical information sources from a single operational environment. By bringing multiple systems together under one platform, the control room is designed to simplify monitoring and coordination activities.
The project also includes LED display technology from Absen and operator consoles from CTF Consoles, supporting visualisation and day-to-day control room operations.
The completed installation has been designed to support 24/7 operations while allowing future expansion as operational requirements evolve. The architecture enables additional sources, displays and monitoring functions to be added over time without requiring a complete system redesign.
For a facility operating at the scale of the Burj Khalifa, where security, operational continuity and rapid response are key priorities, the project demonstrates how video wall management, AV-over-IP distribution and integrated control platforms can be used to centralise information and support decision-making in large-scale security environments.
