Optimal Audio extends ecosystem with Column Series

A complete installation kit in every box is one of the headline features of Optimal Audio’s new Column Series, a pair of passive loudspeakers developed for commercial audio applications where speed of deployment and consistent results are key considerations.

The range comprises the eight-driver Column 8 and 16-driver Column 16, both designed for environments including houses of worship, conference venues, hospitality spaces and concourses. Each model ships with a pan-and-tilt wall bracket, metal safety strap, rear panel connector cover and spare grille cloth for projects where the loudspeaker needs to be painted to match its surroundings.

Column 8 employs eight 2.2-inch full-range drivers within a 610mm enclosure, delivering 150° horizontal and 7° vertical dispersion. The larger Column 16 doubles the driver count in a 1.1m cabinet and narrows vertical coverage to 5°, providing greater control in larger and more acoustically challenging spaces.

Both models are passive 8Ω designs with integrated 70V and 100V transformer taps and achieve an IP54 rating when fitted with the supplied rear connector cover, making them suitable for both indoor and sheltered outdoor installations. Black and white versions are available, with both cabinets designed to be paintable.

The Column Series also integrates with the wider Optimal Audio ecosystem, including the company’s Zone controllers and WebApp platform. Factory-tuned Speech and Music DSP presets are provided to give integrators a proven starting point for system setup and commissioning.
