Ecler drives a smoother audio route for FAW
Serving Indonesia’s ever-increasing demand for concrete, the construction industry requires medium- to heavy-duty trucks to connect its supply chain. As the sole distributor of First Automobile Works (FAW) since 2009, Gaya Makmur Mobil (GMM) has played a large part in providing trucks for the construction, mining, forestry and plantation sectors. The creation of a new headquarters for GMM’s sales, service, spare parts sales and technical training was completed recently. For its newly built multistorey complex located close to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, GMM commissioned Gracia Auvindo to design, supply and install a BGM and paging system.
Connected to an Ecler HUB1408 14-input/8-output digital zone manager in the fifth-level control room, an Ecler eM Page gooseneck at reception serves as the main output for the paging system throughout the corridors and mezzanine-level rooms. The paging station and mobile devices are made possible by the Hangar webserver control application incorporated into the DSP zoner. Speaker management is handled by dual PhaseLab NX4800 processors and an extensive network of Ecler IC6, IC8 and ELC51FM ceiling loudspeakers, powered by Lab.gruppen FA2402 amplifiers in 100-volt line mode.
Designed for meetings and discussions, the 12.8m x 23.0m auditorium is equipped with eight IC8 ceiling loudspeakers discreetly installed in the 4m-high room. For higher-power events, a pair of L-R Ecler Arqis 208i speakers are augmented in the lower frequencies by dual Arqis SB15i subwoofers. Providing even coverage throughout the room, the same components are installed at the rear of the space. Powered by a pair of existing ADR AP-804XP amplifiers, microphone inputs routed from a Midas DL32 stagebox and sources are mixed on a Midas M32R live console. The main and delay speakers are managed on a PhaseLab NX4800 processor.
Powered by a Lab.gruppen FA2402 amplifier, the fitness centre is equipped with six eMotus80D speakers and augmented by dual Ecler Arqis SB15i subwoofers connected to an existing ADR AP-62XP amplifier. “Despite our higher quote, the GMM management commissioned our services as they were impressed by the higher-quality audio and ease-of-use functionality that we demonstrated,” confirmed PT Gracia Auvindo’s project director, Ario Muljono.
