Redge Technologies enhances World Cup coverage
Redge Technologies has expanded its digital broadcasting platform for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding a range of sports-focused features designed to enhance live and on-demand viewing.
The project builds on Redge’s existing partnership with KAN, Israel’s national public broadcaster, and local technology partner AVCOM. Redge previously delivered the core KAN digital platform, combining its Service Delivery Platform and Video Delivery Platform into a unified architecture supporting television, radio, digital and streaming services across multiple devices.
With KAN set to broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup in 4K in Israel, Redge was tasked with developing new features tailored to large-scale live sports coverage.
Among the additions is EnhancedLIVE, an interactive match timeline available on TV applications. The feature displays key moments including goals, penalties and disciplinary cards directly on the video progress bar, allowing viewers to jump to specific events within a match. The functionality was developed in partnership with WSC Sports, which provides event data and metadata.
Redge has also introduced a vertical video experience across mobile and TV platforms. The feature includes stories-style highlights and a dedicated “Moments” feed containing short-form match clips that viewers can navigate through using swipe-based controls. Content is organised into dedicated sections and match-specific collections.
Each World Cup fixture is supported by a Match Detail page that consolidates live streams, highlights, interviews and statistical information. Match data is provided through an embedded widget from sports data specialist Statscore. The page also displays match information including team details, scores and tournament stage.
In addition, a new content recommendation feature appears when viewers pause playback or reach the end of a video, presenting related matches, highlights and programmes available on the platform.
The expanded platform integrates technologies from WSC Sports and Statscore within Redge’s existing architecture, while AVCOM continues to support implementation locally. Redge said its Service Delivery Platform and Video Delivery Platform operate within a single framework, supported by a local content delivery network designed to provide the low-latency performance required for nationwide live sports broadcasting.
The new capabilities will be deployed across KAN’s digital ecosystem for the tournament.
