Calrec broadens ImPulseV options
Calrec has expanded its ImPulseV virtualised audio mixing platform with new DSP configurations and licensing options aimed at broadcasters adopting cloud-based and distributed production workflows.
The company has introduced 96-path and 140-path DSP packages alongside the existing 256-path version, providing additional deployment options for smaller productions while retaining the same feature set across all configurations. Each supports full processing on every path, dynamic allocation of DSP resources and immersive audio formats up to 7.1.4.
Alongside the new processing options, Calrec has added shorter licensing terms of one year, 12 weeks and four weeks. The move is designed to give broadcasters greater flexibility to scale resources for temporary projects, seasonal events or changing production requirements without committing to longer-term infrastructure investments.
ImPulseV forms part of Calrec’s wider virtualisation strategy, supporting remote, distributed and hybrid production environments that combine on-premises and cloud-based resources.
According to Calrec, the new options are intended to reduce barriers to adopting virtualised workflows while allowing broadcasters to match processing capacity more closely to operational requirements.
