Ampetronic enhances accessibility at Swiss Church

Switzerland:

Ampetronic has supplied an assistive listening solution for the Catholic Church in Unterbäch, Switzerland, helping improve accessibility for hearing aid users and visitors attending services and events.

Located in a mountain village in the Swiss Alps, the church serves both local residents and seasonal visitors. The sanctuary required an assistive listening system that could be integrated discreetly within the existing building while delivering reliable coverage throughout the seating area and complying with recognised accessibility standards.

To meet these requirements, an Ampetronic C10-1N hearing loop driver and Auri TX2N transmitter were installed as part of a combined assistive listening solution. The hearing loop provides audio directly to hearing aids and cochlear implants, while the Auri system delivers Auracast broadcast audio to compatible devices.

The installation was carried out by Swiss integration company muribaer, with comprehensive testing conducted to verify coverage, speech intelligibility and standards compliance across the church. “The system was straightforward to integrate and delivered consistent, standards-compliant performance across the church, meeting both technical and accessibility requirements,” said Tim Ammann, project manager at muribaer.

According to Ampetronic, the hearing loop and Auracast-based system were selected to provide a future-ready platform capable of supporting a wider range of users and evolving assistive listening technologies.

According to the completed installation has improved access to spoken word during services, enabling hearing aid users and other listeners to follow proceedings more clearly. By combining traditional hearing loop technology with next-generation wireless audio distribution, the church can accommodate both existing users and visitors with compatible personal devices.

Ampetronic said the project demonstrates how hearing loop systems and Auracast broadcast audio can work together to create an inclusive listening environment while maintaining audio quality and accessibility.
