Palace Pentridge debuts Christie RGBH

Australia:

Palace Cinemas has reportedly become the first exhibitor in Australasia to deploy Christie’s RGBH hybrid laser projection technology, installing a CP4420m-RGBH projector in the flagship auditorium of its Palace Pentridge complex in Melbourne.

Located in Coburg, Victoria, the 15-screen multiplex has equipped its largest auditorium with the RGBH projector as part of an ongoing focus on premium cinema presentation. The auditorium features a 12m-wide silver screen, Dolby Atmos audio and 220 luxury recliner seats.

The installation was delivered by HOYTS Cinema Technology Group (HOYTS CTG), which oversaw the integration of the projector into a boothless configuration. To preserve the venue's architectural design, the unit is housed within a ceiling enclosure rather than a traditional projection booth.

“Christie’s RGBH projector delivered outstanding image quality and was straightforward for our team to integrate at Palace Pentridge,” noted Adam Wrightson, managing director of HOYTS CTG. “The installation process was smooth and the overall feedback on the product was very positive. This project reflects the strong collaboration between Palace Cinemas, HOYTS CTG and Christie in delivering a high-quality cinema experience.”

The deployment expands Palace Cinemas' long-standing use of Christie technologies, which already includes RGB pure laser projection systems featuring Real|Laser illumination and RBe projectors powered by Phazer technology.

“Palace Cinemas is focused on providing state-of-the-art cinema experiences,” said Benjamin Zeccola, CEO of Palace Cinemas. “And we are proud to be the first exhibitor in Australasia to deploy Christie’s RGBH technology. This upgrade enhances our flagship auditorium with outstanding image performance, and it is even more energy-efficient to boot.”

Han Kim, vice president of sales for Asia Pacific at Christie, concluded: “We are committed to listening closely to the market and developing solutions that directly address customer needs. Our RGBH technology is a strong example of this approach, reflecting requirements expressed by exhibitors for greater efficiency, versatility and performance. It also delivers clear advantages in energy efficiency and operating costs. We are pleased to see our latest technology supporting flagship auditorium experiences at Palace Pentridge.”
