Bolin adds more PTZ options

Bolin has expanded its PTZ production portfolio with the introduction of the R9-L420N camera and KBD Plus controller. Designed for live production environments, the camera combines a 1-inch sensor with advanced image processing to deliver 4K60 video and up to 20x zoom. It also supports 1080p capture at up to 120fps for productions requiring high-frame-rate recording.

Hybrid autofocus combines phase-detection and contrast-based technologies to help maintain focus accuracy during live operation, while adjustable cropped outputs allow alternative framing options to be generated from a single camera image.

For multi-camera productions, the R9-L420N supports LTC timecode and Genlock synchronisation. Built-in ND filters assist with exposure control, while connectivity options include dual 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0, optical SDI and IP outputs. Support is provided for NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX3, SRT, RTMP, RTSP, ONVIF and MPEG-TS workflows.

Also joining the range is the KBD Plus PTZ controller, which combines camera control, monitoring and automation tools within a single interface. Built-in decoding allows operators to monitor up to four IP camera sources simultaneously, while low-latency video output is available via HDMI 2.0 and USB-C.

The controller features a 4-inch LCD touchscreen, a redesigned precision joystick and user-programmable buttons for customised operation. Support is provided for VISCA over IP, VISCA over serial, NDI, ONVIF and selected Panasonic and Canon control protocols. A future software update will introduce AI-based subject tracking, enabling compatible PTZ cameras without native tracking functionality to gain automated tracking capabilities through the controller.
