Clear-Com targets IP-only productions with Avalon
Removing the need for analogue connectivity, Avalon, a 1U intercom platform from Clear-Com, has been launched specifically for IP-based production environments. Developed for broadcast, live events and production applications, Avalon supports FreeSpeak wireless beltpacks, HelixNet digital partyline, V-Series user panels and I.V. Direct connectivity within a compact rack-mounted platform. Unlike systems designed to accommodate both analogue and IP workflows, Avalon focuses exclusively on networked deployments, providing a streamlined option for facilities operating solely over modern IP infrastructures.
The platform employs a scalable licensed-port architecture, allowing users to activate capacity as required and expand systems over time without replacing hardware. Support for AES67, Dante and Clear-Com’s I.V. Direct technology enables integration with a range of local and remote communication workflows.
According to the manufacturer, the design is intended to reduce system complexity while maintaining the flexibility required for larger productions and installations. Expanded IP capacity and networking options are aimed at users operating across converged network environments.
Avalon joins the company’s existing intercom portfolio alongside Arcadia Central Station, which continues to address applications requiring hybrid analogue and IP connectivity, front-panel control and support for legacy systems.
