The return of Logic System
The return of Logic System
Following the relaunch of Logic System, Chris Scott and Jason Baird have unveiled the first product offerings. Designed as high-output, 2-way point source loudspeakers, the AT Series currently consists of 15- and 12-inch models. Loaded with a 15-inch ferrite LF woofer with a 3.5-inch voice coil with a 1.4-inch exit, the AT15 enclosure marries a titanium diaphragm ferrite compression driver onto a diecast 80° x 60° (HxV) HF horn that maintains pattern control down to below the 1.2kHz crossover point. The rotatable horns allow the AT15 to be deployed in either portrait or landscape orientation. Housed in an 18mm Baltic birch ply cabinet and finished in a dark grey polyurea coating, flexibility of use is enhanced with 12 M10 inserts, a pole mount and pocket handles.
Modelled on a contemporary industrial design, the AT12 distinguishes itself with a 12-inch ferrite woofer with a 3-inch voice coil, and an annular diaphragm neodymium compression driver mounted onto a 90° x 60° (HxV) rotatable elliptical HF horn that maintains pattern control down to the 2.2kHz crossover point. Combining 18mm and 15mm Baltic birch plywood, the AT12 features 12 M10 inserts, pole mount and pocket handles. A passive crossover and 8Ω nominal impedance allows two AT15s or AT12s to be driven by one channel of an LS8Q or LS12Q 4-channel amplifier, which also comes pre-loaded with EQ presets and limiter settings.
Low-frequency extension is provided by a choice of two direct-radiating subwoofers. Both models incorporate 18-inch direct radiating woofers with 4-inch long-excursion voice coils, demodulation rings and vented ferrite motors. Both the AS218 dual 18-inch and AS18 single 18-inch models record a frequency response of 3dB@35Hz. Housed in 18mm Baltic birch plywood enclosures, both subwoofers are finished in a polyurea coating.
