JBL Professional extends VTX appeal
JBL Professional extends VTX appeal
With the introduction of the VTX B35 and VTX B35G compact single-enclosure subwoofers, JBL Professional has added directional low-frequency control to touring and installed versions of the VTX Series.
With an ability to be flown directly above VTX A12 arrays, the VTX B35 enables clean mixed-array configurations particularly in applications where space for ground-stacked subwoofers is limited or unavailable. Reducing rearward energy while keeping low-frequency coverage focused on the audience, the VTX B35 integrates cardioid behaviour within a single-enclosure design. By eliminating the need for additional rear-facing cabinets, complex array spacing or field-built subwoofer configurations, the VTX B35 simplifies deployment. The VTX A12 can be suspended directly below the B35 without the requirement for adapter frames. Supporting flown, standalone and hybrid deployment configurations across touring and installed applications, the B35 also integrates with A12 rigging accessories, including the A12 Array Frame and current A12 Suspension Bar.
The interior design comprises three JBL Differential Drive 15-inch woofers arranged in a front-rear configuration, with two forward-facing drivers and one rear-facing driver. Resulting in predictable cardioid directivity, each section of the VTX is powered independently via dedicated Crown I-Tech HD amplifier channels. Bypassing the requirement for additional subwoofer cabinets, optimised presets create predictable rear rejection and forward-focused, low-frequency energy.
Extending the LF down to 32Hz, the VTX B35 includes full touring-style rigging, while the B35G includes 16 M10 Quick Link eyebolts for fixed installations and ground-stacked applications. Both models share the same acoustic design, amplifier presets, performance characteristics and NL4 wiring. The VTX B35 Series also integrates with the complete JBL Professional software ecosystem, including Venue Synthesis, Array Link and Performance Manager. Constructed from outdoor-grade Baltic birch plywood, the units are finished with JBL’s impact-resistant DuraFlex coating, stainless-steel grilles, corrosion-resistant hardware and an IP55 rating.
