Pliant adds frameless matrix IP intercom

With the introduction of CrewCom Flex, Pliant Technologies has released a complete matrix IP-based intercom solution. Freed from the limitations of traditional matrix hardware frames, CrewCom Flex converges wired, wireless and virtual voice communication on a standards-based AES67/SMPTE ST 2110 backbone. For deployment in cloud-native or local infrastructures, the CrewCom wireless intercom system unites wired panels, desktop panels, wired beltpacks and browser- or app-based virtual intercom panels.

CrewCom Flex includes ST 2022-7 redundancy compliance and has been designed for demanding productions and critical communication environments. It delivers a complete communications ecosystem built for hybrid, remote, distributed and highly scalable workflows. At the core of the CrewCom Flex platform, the CrewCom CKP-16 Flex Main Panel and CDP-16 Desktop Panel combine the familiarity of traditional hardware with the flexibility and advantages of frameless distributed IP communications. Expansion panels can be added to create customisable user stations, and each panel or desktop panel functions as its own intelligent distributed matrix.

Featuring integrated microphones and speakers, bypassing the requirement to communicate without a headset, CrewCom Flex beltpacks are available in 2-channel CBP-2 and 4-channel CBP-24 versions. The platform also includes the CrewCom Flex Virtual Intercom browser-based VoIP communications solution. Available in 4-, 8-, 16- and 36-key virtual user configurations, the Flex Virtual Intercom can operate either as a standalone communications system or it can integrate within larger CrewCom Flex deployments. Accessible from PCs, Macs, tablets and mobile devices, it can be used by remote and distributed production teams.

The latest platform integrates directly with existing CrewCom wireless intercom systems through CrewCom’s CXD-32CF 32x32 Dante/AES67 digital audio network interface. Featuring drag-and-drop tools, the CrewWare 2.0 software platform handles system configuration and management.
