Biamp joins MDEP platform
Biamp has joined the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) programme, the standardised Android platform for enterprise collaboration devices from Microsoft. The announcement reportedly establishes Biamp as the first MDEP partner to bring a native professional DSP, with automated acoustic tuning and commissioning.
The first Biamp product built on MDEP is an Android-based UC compute platform. Designed for hosting in Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms, the Devio UCX features three UC compute tiers and comes with integrated DSP. Offering enterprise-grade security with remote management capabilities through Biamp Workplace, the Devio UCX serves as the hub for the full Biamp peripheral ecosystem.
Purpose-built for specific room requirements, the Devio UCX is a meeting room hub. The Devio UCX 1000 is ideal for huddle spaces where a connected conferencing bar is required, while the Devio UCX 2000 is designed for larger rooms requiring microphone connectivity and a conferencing bar. For the most performance driven spaces, Devio UCX 3000 enables dual display support, enhanced processing power and advanced AI feature readiness.
Available in tabletop or wall mounted models, each Devio UCX system is equipped with a 10.1-inch Apprimo Touch 10 UCX Series panel that auto-pairs the moment it’s connected. The room automatically wakes when someone walks in. The Devio UCX provides device charging and switches instantly between a UC meeting and a laptop via USB-C. Allowing IT teams to plan room configurations before deployment, it is included in Biamp Workplace Designer. When rooms go live, Biamp Workplace provides remote monitoring and management, including real-time device health monitoring, over-the-air firmware management and access to Biamp Launch report cards.
With Workplace Control, Biamp has introduced the Unified AV Automation Platform. Built on the Biamp Workplace platform and running natively on TesiraFORTÉ X Series DSP hardware, Workplace Control can create event-driven automation without complex programming. Designers can discover Biamp devices, drag and drop them into a design with simple panel layouts and generate a complete control configuration in minutes. Transforming AV systems into intelligent, automated environments, the no-code design workflow resembles the Tesira Flow Layout. Workplace Control includes a complete range of Apprimo Touch interfaces with 4-, 7-, 8- and 10-inch panels for in-room control. Biamp devices are automatically discovered through Workplace, and their control elements are directly imported into the Workplace Control Designer app. The app provides an integrated design environment for user interface design, programming and deployment.
