Elevation Worship tours with SSL

USA:

Elevation Worship has completed the first leg of its Elevation Nights 2026 tour using Solid State Logic (SSL) Live consoles at both FOH and monitors, alongside the company's new UMD192 MADI and Dante audio interface.

The Grammy Award-winning worship collective is touring with an SSL Live L650 console at FOH, operated by production manager and FOH engineer Cory Edwards, while monitor engineer Pat Scherer is mixing on an L550 Plus. The consoles, supplied by Nashville-based Spectrum Sound, are linked via SSL's Blacklight II MADI system.

“This is our sixth tour using the L650 desk and I couldn't be happier,” said Edwards. “Pat Scherer, our monitor engineer, has an L550 Plus, and we're connected via the SSL Blacklight II MADI system.”

Edwards, who has previously worked with Lauren Daigle, Jesus Culture and Kari Jobe, said the console's onboard processing has significantly reduced the need for external equipment.

“One of the things that drew me to SSL is the signature sound of the preamps and the EQs – everything that we all know and love,” he said. “One of the highlights of the Live desk is the sound of the channel strip and I'd say 95% of the EQ on our show is just on the desk with this EQ.”

Beyond the console's channel processing, Edwards is also making use of SSL's built-in effects, including Blitzer, Listen Mic Compressor and Fusion, while the production team uses the console's scene automation to trigger vocal and routing changes throughout the show via timecode.

“Pat and I have quite an extensive list of scenes that we run throughout the show,” Edwards explained. “Both he and I are firing these off timecode from our playback system, which SSL has made very easy to do. Within the songs, we have quite a few lead vocals on stage. They switch in and out all the time, so we're using the scene list to fire off those changes during the show, which keeps us focused on mixing and not on navigating the desk.”

The tour is also among the first to adopt SSL's new UMD192 interface, which supports bidirectional audio between MADI, Dante and USB formats. Edwards said the unit is being driven via Dante, with USB-C used for multitrack recording at FOH while retaining a MADI split for backup recording or broadcast feeds.

“It's been incredibly easy to use and is very plug-and-play,” he concluded. “We're using it for all of our multitrack recording at FOH and we have the UMD192's MADI split reserved in case we need to do a backup recording or provide a broadcast split.”

Elevation Worship, part of Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, will resume its Elevation Nights 2026 tour with arena dates across the US Midwest beginning in October.
