L-Acoustics supports multiuse Phuket venue
CLC Phuket, a restaurant and entertainment venue in Phuket's Bang Tao district, has implemented a multizone L-Acoustics sound system to enable it to transition from fine dining to live performances and DJ sets throughout the evening.
Designed and installed by Bangkok-based Vision One, the system was specified to deliver consistent audio performance across changing operating modes, from low level background music during dinner service to high-SPL live entertainment later in the night.
The project followed the venue owners' experience with an L-Acoustics installation at Café del Mar Phuket. “The experience CLC’s owners had at Café del Mar Phuket was so positive that they specifically asked their system integrator to approach us for an L-Acoustics solution,” said Akarat Thitipattakul, business development manager at Vision One. “Their brief was for a sound system that could support both early evening and late night experiences with consistent coverage and high-output performance.”
The installation covers two spaces within the venue, including a 250-capacity main room and a separate karaoke room accommodating around 50 guests. Vision One selected a combination of A15 Focus and A15 Wide loudspeakers with KS21 subwoofers, using the manufacturer’s Soundvision software to model coverage around fixed loudspeaker positions dictated by the venue's interior design.
“We chose the A Series because it offers an ideal balance of power, coverage flexibility, musicality and compact form factor,” noted Thitipattakul. “The combination of A15 Focus and A15 Wide allowed us to optimise coverage throughout the venue while maintaining tonal consistency. When combined with the KS21 subwoofers, we were able to deliver strong low frequency performance and excellent vocal clarity, which were critical requirements for the client.”
The main room features two hangs comprising A15 Focus and A15 Wide enclosures, supported by four KS21 subwoofers and X8i delay loudspeakers, while the karaoke room uses a similar A Series configuration with two KS21 subwoofers. Processing and amplification are provided by four LA4X amplified controllers and one LA2Xi.
As Vision One is based in Bangkok, the integrator also implemented remote system access for ongoing support and provided training to the venue's technical staff. “For Vision One, the measure of the project is what happens on a working night,” said Thitipattaku. “CLC's team can now let a night build naturally – from dinner, to live performance, to dance floor – without ever needing to compromise the sound to get there. That continuity, from the quietest moment to the loudest, is what the old approach couldn't offer.”
