Sonos Libra expands technical training with Adamson workshop
Sonos Libra recently brought together more than 50 audio professionals, systems engineers and students for a two-day technical workshop on Adamson systems and software at Suryadhep Music Sala, Rangsit University.
Held on 25–26 June, the programme centred on loudspeaker engineering principles and practical system deployment, with participants receiving training on Adamson's CS Series loudspeakers and ArrayIntelligence prediction software.
Rather than concentrating on product features, the sessions were designed to build a technical understanding of loudspeaker behaviour and systems design. Attendees were introduced to acoustic principles before progressing to topics including point source and line source systems, subwoofer deployment, acoustic simulation, array optimisation and installation planning.
Hands-on exercises formed a significant part of the programme, allowing participants to create loudspeaker designs and evaluate system performance using the manufacturer’s software tools alongside live demonstrations.
The workshop was hosted at Suryadhep Music Sala, which features a permanently installed Adamson IS Series sound system supplied and commissioned by Sonos Libra. This enabled attendees to compare the installed system with the portable CS Series deployment under similar acoustic conditions.
“We intentionally began the workshop with the fundamentals of loudspeakers and acoustics before moving into system design,” said Pakphoom Sununtha, sound engineer and instructor at Sonos Libra. “Building a strong foundation is essential so everyone shares the same understanding before working with professional design tools. Throughout the two days, participants not only learned the theory but also designed their own systems and observed the complete deployment process.”
Alongside the training sessions, Sonos Libra's engineering team carried out preventative maintenance on the venue's IS Series installation, including firmware updates, network verification, redundancy testing and system reconfiguration following a recent mixer firmware update.
Gle, education engineer and instructor at Sonos Libra, said one of the objectives was to make advanced engineering concepts more accessible by delivering the material in Thai. “Seeing participants genuinely connect with the material made this one of our most successful workshops to date and gives us confidence to continue expanding our education programme,” he said.
Sonos Libra CEO Alfonso Martin said the event reflects the company's continued investment in technical education alongside its integration business. “Gle and Phoom successfully delivered two full days of technical training, and the entire programme was developed collaboratively by combining our own field experience with Adamson's technology and best practices,” commented Martin. “Hosting the workshop at Suryadhep Music Sala also allowed participants to experience a real Adamson installation alongside the CS Series training system. Watching attendees compare both systems and hearing their excitement throughout the demonstrations made all of our preparation worthwhile. We'd also like to thank Suryadhep Music Sala for sharing our vision and supporting this educational initiative.”
