GudSound invests in d&b V-Series
Stage Audio Works has supplied Durban-based technical provider GudSound with a d&b audiotechnik V-Series line array system, marking the company's first investment in the German manufacturer's technology.
The system comprises 20 V8 and four V12 line array elements, 16 B22 subwoofers and eight D40 amplifiers. Stage Plus cabling, flight cases and integrated power distribution have also been supplied to support transport and deployment.
“For us at GudSound, investing in a d&b audiotechnik sound system through Stage Audio Works is about much more than just adding new equipment to our inventory,” said Leepy Shabangu, CEO at GudSound. “It represents the next step in our journey as a company and our commitment to raising the standard of production we deliver to our clients.”
According to GudSound, the investment was driven by growing demand for globally specified systems on technical riders, alongside a requirement for greater consistency and control across different event formats.
The combination of V8 and V12 elements provides flexibility when configuring arrays for different audience geometries, while the D40 amplifiers provide system processing and load monitoring. The V-Series system can be scaled for large outdoor events and indoor productions.
The system is expected to be deployed across events in Durban, including Durban July, as well as music and lifestyle productions such as Bread4Soul Sessions, Saso's House and Pianocast.
