USA:

CornerstoneSF has selected a FOR-A HVS-Q12 video switcher for its UHD production studios in San Francisco, marking the first US installation of the 2 M/E 3G/12G switcher. Systems integrator Novo Group specified the system as the church upgraded its technical facilities.

The project continues a relationship between CornerstoneSF and FOR-A dating back to 2014, when the church installed an HVS-390 switcher. According to Novo Group CEO Arthur Yeap, the support received since that installation influenced the latest selection. “The church’s production team had excellent customer support with excellent factory response time,” he said. “When compared to competitive vendors, others offered little to no support or costly annual service plans. FOR-A is a gem that many more users and integrators should discover.”

Yeap highlighted why the HVS-Q12 was the ideal choice: “In addition to FOR-A’s history of support, features that solidified the choice were the switcher’s intuitive control panel, excellent keyers, Dante networking and NDI capability.”

Robert Kendrick, digital director at CornerstoneSF, said: “The HVS-Q12 checked all the right boxes for build quality, picture quality, ease of use and reliability – at a sensible price point.”

According to CornerstoneSF technical director Christ Lossius, ease of operation was particularly important for a production team comprising professional and volunteer staff. “Reliability and video quality are two things we examine in great detail,” he said. “Equally important is the ease of use of the switcher. We’ve got a mix of professional and volunteer staff, so making sure it can be operated at its full capacity by beginners as well as advanced operators is critical. If that’s not possible, our presentations will suffer.”

FOR-A America president and COO Satoshi Kanemura commented: “This project reflects exactly what we set out to achieve with the HVS-Q12 – a powerful production switcher that delivers broadcast-quality performance while remaining intuitive enough for operators of all experience levels. We're excited that the first US deployment of the HVS-Q12 is helping establish a new benchmark for live production in the house of worship market and we look forward to supporting many more customers as they modernise their production workflows."
