AIMS schedules second IPMX certification event

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), in partnership with the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), has announced its second IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event, which will take place from 24–28 August at EBU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Open to AIMS and VSF member companies, the event aims to expand the number of certified IPMX products while introducing certification for new capabilities added to the IPMX roadmap.

Ahead of the certification event, AIMS will host a members-only interoperability session from 20–24 July at the Matrox Video facility in Montreal, allowing participants to test new IPMX developments before formal certification.

New certification categories planned for the Geneva event include the Host Key Exchange Protocol and HDCP support for protected content, the Privacy Encryption Protocol security layer, and HEVC and AVC compression profiles.

“The first certification event in January established that IPMX works across vendors at scale,” said Sam Recine, IPMX pro AV working group chair at AIMS. “The August event is where we take the next steps, expanding the certified product base and validating the capabilities that integrators and end users have been asking about since certification launched. Each event builds on the last and the momentum we’re seeing from member companies reflects real confidence in where IPMX is headed.”

Designed for professional AV and broadcast applications, IPMX is an open standards-based framework that combines SMPTE ST 2110 media transport with NMOS control, targeting markets including live events, corporate environments, education and other AV installations.

The certification programme launched earlier this year at ISE 2026 with 48 certified products from 11 manufacturers. AIMS says the latest event will continue to expand the ecosystem as new features are added to the standard.
