Extron has released version 1.8 of its EMS Quantum Ultra software alongside Quantum Ultra firmware 6.03, introducing live content preview, expanded videowall management and support for the latest Quantum IN4DTP3 and OUT4DTP3 cards. The update enables operators to view both live and static source content directly within the EMS interface while designing and recalling presets. Live preview is available on Quantum Ultra II systems equipped with IN4HDMI 4K Plus, IN4FOX3 and IN4DTP3 input cards, while both Quantum Ultra and Quantum Ultra II processors support picture file previews.

Canvas capacity has been increased from 10 to 20, allowing a single Quantum Ultra or Quantum Ultra II system to manage up to 20 videowalls with different resolutions and screen layouts. User account support has also been expanded to 50 logins across three permission levels: Administrator, Designer and User. Administrators can assign permissions for individual canvases and sources to help streamline operation across multiple displays.

EMS Quantum Ultra provides wireless videowall control via tablets running iOS, Android and Windows. The software enables users to recall presets, adjust window size and position, prioritise window layers and select audio sources. It can operate as a standalone control platform or alongside Extron’s Videowall Configuration Software (VCS) and Pro Series control processors with TouchLink Pro touchpanels.

The update introduces several workflow improvements, including the ability to group windows for simultaneous editing, snap grouped windows to screens or grids, and adjust alignment, spacing and aspect ratios across multiple windows. EMS Quantum Ultra continues to support up to 128 window presets and simultaneous control from up to 10 devices. It also remains compatible with Quantum Expansion IN and OUT cards. Built-in system alerts notify users of temperature warnings, power supply faults and fan failures.
