Wisycom extends RF over fibre range with portable PFL

Wisycom has begun shipping the PFL Portable RFoF Box, a compact RF over fibre solution designed for broadcast, OB, location sound and live production applications requiring remote antenna deployment and flexible network connectivity. According to the manufacturer, the system extends antenna placement from around 100m to several kilometres over fibre, while simultaneously carrying additional data including Gigabit Ethernet, Dante, Shure ShowLink and Sound Devices NexLink return-channel information. The RF over fibre platform is also compatible with most third-party wireless microphone systems.

Built around a dual-converter architecture, the PFL provides true diversity over fibre and incorporates Ethernet connectivity for remote control and Dante workflows via a Neutrik opticalCON DUO interface. The unit can be powered from either mains or a V-lock battery, allowing deployment in fixed installations or portable production environments.

The enclosure features dual N-connectors, integrated power management, temperature-controlled cooling and protected I/O designed for field operation. Three versions are available, including two models for wireless microphone diversity reception and one dedicated to IEM and IFB applications.
