KLSTR and Golden Sea sign lighting technology partnership

KLSTR Technologies has signed a technology cooperation agreement with Golden Sea, Guangzhou Haoyang Electronic – the publicly listed parent company of Ayrton, SGM, Terbly and GS ARC – to develop intelligent networking technologies for professional lighting. The agreement was signed during a ceremony at Golden Sea's headquarters in Guangzhou, China, with senior representatives from both companies in attendance.

The partnership builds on an existing collaboration between KLSTR and Ayrton and expands the scope of cooperation across the wider Golden Sea group. The companies said they will explore technology integration opportunities and collaborate on future development projects.

Golden Sea manufactures professional entertainment lighting products for the touring, live events, broadcast, theatre and architectural sectors. KLSTR has developed a networking platform that enables lighting fixtures to function as intelligent network devices with features including automatic discovery, remote configuration, topology mapping and real-time diagnostics.

“This agreement represents an important milestone for KLSTR,” said Roel Apers, founder of KLSTR. “Golden Sea has built one of the strongest manufacturing groups in our industry. Together, we can redefine how lighting fixtures communicate, as well as how they are commissioned and managed throughout their entire lifecycle. We believe intelligent networking will become a fundamental part of the next generation of professional lighting products.”

Gordon Huang, R&D director at Golden Sea, added: “Golden Sea has been at the forefront of innovating in our industry for many years. This is therefore a natural fit. We are excited to be working alongside KLSTR and look forward to deploying this ground-breaking technology for the benefit of all our partners.”

According to the companies, the agreement establishes a framework for engineering collaboration, product evaluation and future technology development. Additional announcements covering product integrations and joint initiatives are expected as development programmes progress.

Both parties believe that the partnership reflects growing interest in connected lighting infrastructure, with manufacturers increasingly integrating networking capabilities into fixtures to support remote monitoring, diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The companies said these developments have the potential to simplify deployment and maintenance while improving operational reliability for rental providers, production companies and end users.
