Mount Faber ballroom upgrades with Harman Professional
Mount Faber Leisure Group has upgraded the technology at its Mount Faber Peak Ballroom in Singapore with a new Martin Professional lighting and JBL Professional audio system. The solution was specified and designed by AVL Acoustic Systems (AVLAS) and supplied by Electronics & Engineering to enhance the venue's ability to support a wider range of weddings, corporate functions and private events.
The upgrade was delivered as part of a refurbishment aimed at improving production flexibility while maintaining the ballroom's architectural aesthetic and panoramic views across the Singapore skyline, Sentosa Island and the harbour.
According to AVLAS, the existing venue relied on fixed lighting and ageing truss-mounted fixtures that limited creative flexibility. The retrofit also presented installation challenges, including concealed infrastructure, ceiling load restrictions and a two-week installation window within an operational venue.
“Our vision was to create a ballroom that could transform as quickly as the events we host. Where light, sound and space move together to create emotion,” said Marc Brandon Hor, project consultant at AVLAS. “Transforming a completed ballroom meant navigating hidden infrastructure, load restrictions and tight schedules. We needed technology that disappeared into the design yet delivered a truly flexible experience for every event.”
The lighting system comprises eight Martin Professional ERA 150 Wash fixtures and eight ELP PAR fixtures. Finished in white to blend with the ceiling, the luminaires provide programmable lighting for a variety of event formats, from wedding receptions to product launches and gala dinners.
The audio system features 18 JBL Professional Control 47C/T ceiling loudspeakers and six Professional Control 19CST ceiling subwoofers, designed to deliver consistent coverage for speeches, background music, live entertainment and multimedia presentations while remaining visually unobtrusive.
With only two weeks available to complete the installation, AVLAS worked alongside Electronics & Engineering and Harman Professional to deliver the project on schedule. “Harman's dedication to speed and quality support transforms them from a supplier into a true project partner,” Hor noted. “Their responsiveness helped us overcome every logistical and technical challenge within the tight time frame.”
