Theory sticks to proven technology
Based on Powersoft’s Class-D amplification and signal processing technologies, Theory Professional has added five amplified loudspeaker controllers within its electronics portfolio. Comprising two 4-channel (PLC-16K4 and PLC-9K4) and two 8-channel models (PLC-4K8 and PLC-8K8), the PLC series features SmartRail energy-management power supplies, Power Factor Correction and advanced DSP architecture in a 1U chassis.
Capable of delivering 1,500W into 4Ω or 8Ω from any channel pair, or 800W into 2Ω or 4Ω all channels driven, the DLC-1500.8d 2U controller can drive up to 32 Theory 16Ω loudspeakers in Lo-Z mode, or over 300 direct in Hi-Z mode, with no internal transformer required. Designed to simplify setting up distributed audio systems, high-current output Euroblock connectors capable of accepting up to 10-gauge wire and 4-channels of Dante/AES67 audio-over-IP digital I/O are included.
The DLC-1500.8d can be configured with the DLC onboard web interface accessible via wired Ethernet, or via its onboard Wi-Fi access point, and includes matrix mixing, priority audio routing and ducking, parametric EQ, delay, gain and limiter DSP objects to simplify system optimisation. Full API and modules for AMX, Control4, Crestron, Crestron Home, ELAN, Josh.ai, Q-SYS, RTI and Symetrix are also available. Key features of maritime-compliant platform include proprietary loudspeaker presets, three configurable 1Gb network ports including PoE, all channel power sharing and an eEasy swap USB key amplifier restore.
