Lightware expands room control
Lightware has introduced updates to its LARA Wizard Touchpanel configuration software and Taurus product family, adding new room control features alongside SNMPv3 monitoring support for enterprise AV environments.
The latest LARA Wizard update is designed to simplify touchpanel configuration while expanding functionality for meeting spaces. A new Dual Display Control feature allows two displays to be configured independently from a single touchpanel, while Light and Dark themes, custom company branding and a live preview window help integrators configure and verify interfaces before deployment.
Room control has also been extended with support for up to four configurable control buttons using GPIO, serial, Ethernet or CEC communication, allowing users to operate equipment such as displays, projectors and lighting directly from the touchpanel. Additional enhancements include scheduled display shutdown, Smart Auto-Select across both outputs and a refreshed user interface.
Separately, selected Taurus devices now support SNMPv3 monitoring from firmware version 1.20.0, enabling integration with existing IT monitoring platforms. Compatible Taurus UCX, TPX and TPN devices can be monitored using standard SNMP management software, allowing administrators to track system health, network status and uptime without relying on proprietary interfaces.
Lightware has also added Taurus-specific MIB parameters, including device label, serial number, CPU temperature, motherboard health and link status, providing additional visibility into device performance within enterprise monitoring environments.
