MTE and IMSD host AV tech conference in Malaysia
Mahajak Trio Electronic (MTE) and IMS Distribution (IMSD) brought together around 200 system integrators, rental companies and dealer partners for the inaugural MTE x IMSD AV Tech Conference, held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Puchong, Malaysia.
The event served as a platform for product launches, brand announcements and technical presentations, while reinforcing the distributors' focus on strengthening relationships with channel partners across the Malaysian professional AV market.

The conference was structured into two themed sessions. The morning programme, titled The Signal, focused on professional audio and display technologies, with presentations from Shure, Electro-Voice, Dynacord, Unilumin and HH Audio. The sessions covered wireless microphone systems, installation loudspeakers, amplification, LED displays and portable audio solutions.
A highlight of the morning was the presentation of Unilumin's distribution certificate, formally recognising the LED display manufacturer as part of MTE and IMS Distribution's portfolio.
The afternoon session, The Shift, turned its attention to conferencing, broadcast and AV-over-IP technologies. Televic, Aver, Visionary Solutions and Telycam showcased products spanning conference systems, networked AV distribution and professional broadcasting, reflecting the growing adoption of IP-based technologies across corporate, education and live event applications.
Following the presentations, attendees took part in a two-hour exhibition and networking session, providing an opportunity to view demonstrations and engage directly with participating manufacturers and the MTE and IMS Distribution teams.
System integrators attending the event echoed this, citing how they were able to explore in-depth the integrated solutions available in the event. They also praised the ability to have meaningful and direct discussions with representatives from manufacturers. Lastly, many attendees stated that the event highlights the commitment of MTE and IMS Distribution teams towards audio, conferencing and video solutions in Malaysia market.
The event showcased the breadth of the distributors' portfolio, which now spans professional audio, LED display, conferencing, AV-over-IP and broadcast technologies. Alongside multiple product launches and the addition of Unilumin, the conference highlighted the companies' strategy of combining technical education, product demonstrations and partner engagement under a single event.
MTE and IMS Distribution said that the inaugural conference marked an expansion of the companies’ activities beyond product supply, placing greater emphasis on technical support, training and long-term channel development within Malaysia's professional AV market.
