NMK Academy launches Invests in You training initiative
NMK Academy has launched a new education initiative aimed at expanding access to manufacturer-certified training for AV professionals across the Middle East. Named Invests in You, the programme has been introduced to sponsor selected training courses, helping to remove financial barriers to professional development while reinforcing NMK Electronics' long-standing focus on technical education.
The initiative was launched through a complimentary L-Acoustics System & Workflow certification course held during NMK Beyond, where UAE-based audio professionals received a full day of manufacturer-certified training. Although the course typically carries a value of AED650 per participant, every place was fully sponsored by NMK.
According to the company, the launch builds on the activities of NMK Academy, which has spent years delivering manufacturer-certified training, technical workshops, hands-on demonstrations and professional development programmes across the GCC. This includes more than 140 training sessions across the GCC in 2025 alone, providing technical education to more than 4,000 AV professionals across audio, video, unified communications, networking, lighting and broadcast technologies.
“At a time when the Middle East ProAV community faces one of its most challenging periods, it takes market leaders to set the standards and create the conditions that enable the audiovisual industry to continue to prosper,” said Alex Kemanes, regional managing director at NMK Electronics. “NMK remains committed to giving back to our AV community and elevating the skills of audio engineers.”
The inaugural course received positive feedback from attendees, with participants highlighting both the opportunity to gain L-Acoustics certification and the wider value of continued professional development. The event combined classroom learning, practical discussions and networking sessions for engineers from across the UAE.
“It's amazing to see NMK doing something like this,” commented attendee Hussain Lokhandwala, head of the audio department at GDL. “L-Acoustics training is rarely offered complimentary, and initiatives like this help professionals continue learning and developing their skills."
Another attendee, freelance audio engineer Tim Molodkin, shared: “This was my first official L-Acoustics certification, and I'm extremely happy to have had the opportunity. NMK Academy encouraged me to continue my learning journey.”
NMK says that the Invests in You initiative will continue to support AV professionals through sponsored training opportunities as part of its wider commitment to education and skills development across the region.
