Sommer shines with HICON sockets

Designed for broadcast, studio and professional AV applications demanding high-resolution 4K and UHD signal quality, the HICON BNC 12G-SDI panel-mount crimp sockets have been added to Sommer Cable’s catalogue. The 75Ω crimp-type panel-mount sockets are available for coaxial cables measuring 0.6/2.8mm (BNC0.6/2.8FE-UHD), 0.8/3.7mm (BNC0.8/3.7FE-UHD), 1.2/5mm (BNC1.2/5.0FE-UHD) and 1.6/7mm (BNC1.6/7.0FE-UHD). Ensuring a stable, low-loss signal transmission, the sockets comprise of 4μm gold plating on the contact surfaces and a gold-plated brass housing for added corrosion resistance. With crimping technology providing a mechanically secure and attenuation-optimised direct connection between the cable and socket, a standard 0.5-inch thread allows the sockets to be neatly integrated into panels, racks or equipment units. Alternatively, the sockets are also available in a D-flange metal housing. Suitable for time-critical broadcast and production environments, the sockets also include a BNC bayonet lock for quick and secure connections.
