Sama Sound introduces HK Audio Lunar to the Korean market
Sama Sound is showcasing the latest HK Audio Portable Sound products to the Korean market through a three-week Lunar Open House in Seoul, taking place from 11–31 August.
Hosted at Sama Sound’s office, the event transforms a former band rehearsal room into a dedicated demonstration space. The venue regularly welcomes end-users for training sessions, customer support and other programmes, while additional visitors, including students from Sama Sound’s scholarship programme, are expected throughout August.
The open house highlights HK Audio’s Lunar range, Portable Sub series and Polar 8 MK2. The main listening setup features a stereo pair of Lunar 112 XA loudspeakers combined with a Portable Sub 115 A, while Polar 8 MK2, Polar 10 MK2 White and Sonar 110 Xi are available for individual demonstrations. A Portable Sub 118 A is also displayed separately to showcase its rear-panel controls and versatility.
Rather than offering a conventional product presentation, Sama Sound provides visitors with dedicated listening sessions. The event operates primarily on a reservation basis, with groups of up to five people admitted per hour. After a brief introduction, visitors can explore the systems at their own pace using a reference playlist curated by the distributor, featuring tracks selected to demonstrate different frequency ranges.
The initiative is designed to strengthen awareness of Sama Sound and HK Audio among end users, particularly younger customers, while supporting the brand’s continued growth in the Korean market. The event also serves as a platform for engaging sound engineers and other industry professionals, with several influential Korean audio professionals already attending. Social media plays a key role in the campaign, with short-form video content and creator collaborations helping to reach younger audiences. Content generated during the open house will continue to be shared after the event concludes.
“It's really inspiring to see such a creative and hands-on approach from our Korea team,” said Isabelle Wear, head of APAC at HK Audio. “The Lunar Open House is a fantastic way to engage customers and let them experience the products in a relaxed, inspiring environment. Great work by the team; a wonderful example of local creativity and initiative across APAC.”
During the first four days, from 11–14 August, the open house welcomed 55 visitors, with total attendance projected to exceed 100 by the end of the event. The open house is also part of Sama Sound’s broader programme of activities leading up to HK Audio Experience Day, which is expected to be the brand’s largest event in Korea this year.
