From Freedom to Mainstage: The Network Behind the Show
Tomorrowland is known for creating extraordinary experiences, but behind every moving structure, lighting cue and powerful beat is a network that must perform flawlessly.
At the Freedom Stage, the spectacular Floating Sky transforms the space above the crowd into part of the show. More than 420 synchronized winches bring the installation to life, creating a highly demanding motion system operating above thousands of visitors. To support it, Xine Robotics and FACE built a resilient infrastructure using Luminex GigaCore switches, LumiNodes, LumiCore and Araneo.
The result is real-time visibility, independent safety control and redundant connectivity, helping operators identify potential issues before they can interrupt the experience.
The same Luminex ecosystem also supports fast lighting changeovers at the Freedom Stage, AVB audio transport on the Mainstage and a lighting network connecting approximately 1,100 fixtures. Guest and house teams can verify systems before handover, monitor fibre links across long distances and bring large productions online with confidence.
For production teams, this means faster troubleshooting, smoother transitions and greater operational control. For the audience, it means the technology disappears, and the magic never stops.
Discover how Luminex helped Tomorrowland’s technical partners build reliable, easy-to-manage networks for one of the world’s most ambitious live productions.
