YoloLiv streams live from West Lake using one mobile hotspot
YoloLiv has demonstrated the capabilities of compact IRL streaming with a two-hour live production from a moving boat on China’s West Lake in Hangzhou, using just three lightweight devices and a single mobile hotspot. Staged with KOL partner Aaron Parecki, the production was designed to test whether a broadcast-quality, multicamera live show could be delivered without a laptop, external encoding software or network bonding hardware.
At the centre of the setup was a YoloBox Extreme, which handled camera switching, remote guest windows, overlays and distribution. A DJI Osmo Pocket 3, paired with a DJI Mic 2, provided one camera source, while a YoloCam S3 supplied AI-enhanced 4K footage of the lake and surrounding scenery.
The stream incorporated four remote guests based in Australia, Germany, the US and Hangzhou. Each joined through a browser without requiring an app, with their feeds displayed alongside the presenters in real time.
YoloBox also enabled the production to simulcast to its YouTube channel, Parecki’s YouTube channel and YoloLiv’s Facebook page from the same output. Audience comments from the platforms were displayed on screen throughout the two-hour broadcast.
The production highlighted the potential for live content to be created from locations where conventional production infrastructure would be impractical. Viewers quickly picked up on the unusual nature of the demonstration, which combined multicamera production, international remote contributors and simultaneous distribution while operating from a moving boat on a single phone hotspot.
The three core devices made up the complete production system, eliminating the need for external batteries, a monitor, laptop, third-party guest software or paid multistream subscriptions.
YoloLiv said it is positioning the West Lake production as an example of its “stream from anywhere” approach to IRL broadcasting, demonstrating how live productions can be built around portable equipment and cellular connectivity rather than fixed infrastructure.
