Shure rewinds the system with WAVETOOL 4
Up to 30 minutes of full-system audio history gives engineers a way to investigate problems after they occur with WAVETOOL 4, the latest version of Shure's monitoring and listening software for theatre, live sound, broadcast and houses of worship. A new Global Instant Replay function rewinds the entire monitored system rather than an individual channel, allowing teams to revisit intermittent faults and determine what happened at a particular point in a production.
WAVETOOL 4 supports up to 192 channels and eight concurrent users, combining direct listening to wired and wireless audio sources with replay, alerts and communication within a shared environment.
Other enhancements include an interface can now be scaled, resized and arranged to prioritise channels according to the production, while intelligent microphone issue detection identifies potential problems while filtering expected production sounds to reduce false alarms. Collaboration tools have also been expanded with chat, image sharing, reactions and voice notes integrated into the monitoring workflow.
The software is intended for use throughout a production, from setup and microphone checks through live operation and subsequent review. Subscription and perpetual licensing options are managed through ShureCloud, allowing the platform to be used for touring and project-based work as well as permanent installations.
