Ayrton lights up Singapore’s National Day Parade
Ayrton EagleStrike fixtures took on a central role in Singapore’s National Day Parade (NDP) 2026, with more than 400 units deployed across the National Stadium as the event returned to the venue for the first time in a decade.
Marking Singapore’s 61st anniversary of independence, the parade brought 42,000 people to the stadium and featured more than 1,200 civilian participants. The production also incorporated what is reported to be the largest lighting rig in NDP history, comprising more than 1,650 fixtures, including over 1,300 moving lights.
The Show Company (ShowCo), under director Joseph Gan, purchased 430 EagleStrike fixtures from Total Solution Marketing (TSM), Ayrton’s exclusive Singapore distributor. Of these, 424 were installed on trusses and ladders across the stadium ceiling, with throw distances ranging from 30m–150m.
Lighting designer and director Michael Chan selected EagleStrike for its combination of output and versatility, with the fixture required to operate as both a wash and precision lighting tool across the large arena. Its zoom range, shutter system and colour mixing were also important considerations, particularly given the demands of live broadcast.
“I was looking for an ultra bright and versatile light that was suitable for a large arena,” said Chan. “The light needed to have sharp shutter cuts, a zoom range that went quickly from very narrow to wide and a good colour mix.”
Chan also highlighted the fixture’s ability to maintain consistent colour and beam control across varying throw distances. During the production, only two EagleStrike units reportedly required attention despite three weeks of programming at up to 10 hours per day.
For ShowCo, the deployment also represents an expansion of its lighting inventory. “The EagleStrike demonstrated excellent durability and reliability over the two-month run,” noted Gan. “The attributes that made it successful for the parade are equally valuable and desirable for other productions we provide to our regular clients. We are happy to be able to add these mighty fixtures to our lighting offering.”
